Is anybody else binge-watching Dancing with the Stars this season or is it just me?

In this episode of Always Acting up, I am graced by actor, dancer, and friend Laurie Huff who shares her experience of being a professional dancer in the middle of a worldwide lockdown.

The gig life & dancing with the stars

The reality of being an actor or a dancer is that you are always on the go. You are always traveling, always working, and always thinking about your next project. It’s incredibly exciting, but when the pandemic hit, that also meant pretty much all of us were out of work, and for a very long time.

Here’s the good part. Because most gig workers are creative types, a lot of online classes popped up. Paint parties, online scavenger hunts, and of course acting & dance classes. It was almost like you could be on dancing with the stars, at home! Yes, literally, your favorite instructors were all teaching online.

Find out some of the best online dance practices, and other things you can do for the next time you’re bored at home.
