SELF TAPE AUDITIONS!
Self tape auditions are the new industry standards. Here is a quick audition checklist + some self tape examples.
Welcome to my self tape audition library!
Self tapes are the way to go while waiting to collect footage from projects you may or may never see. I’ll be using this as an opportunity to work on both the technical aspect (self tape set up, equipment) of my self tape auditions as well as improving my performance and audition technique.
Self tape auditions can be a bit rough sometimes. For instance, there’s always the the dreaded internet lag, dogs barking or neighbors living their lives. You’ll notice a bit of that below. 🙂
Therefore, what an opportunity for us to try and manage that with some practice audition scenes, before the real deal!

- First things first, find or write an original scene or audition monologue
- Find a quiet space with good lighting or an available window.
- Use my WeAudition promo code, ACTINGUP25 for 25% off your membership to rehearse and learn your lines with a REAL reader (not your computer)
- Next, for your self tape set up, grab a tripod and place your recording device horizontal to record. That’s hamburger ya’ll, not hotdog.
- Make sure your phone has enough storage space, if not, clean clean clean!
- Then, hop back on WeAudition, press record, and knock out a killer self tape audition!
