Casting websites are a necessary evil for actors. I love them, but I despise them at the same time.
Casting websites such as Actors Access allow non union actors an opportunity to audition for all kinds of projects such as commercials, short films, feature films, and even some TV shows.
While there are many websites across the country, there are a few main sites that are well known and legit.
The biggest casting websites for actors (on the west coast) are:
- Actors Access, aka Breakdowns
- Casting Networks, aka LACasting
- Backstage
- Casting Frontier
Here’s the thing, they’re not free, so budget wisely.
Casting Websites & The Agents 10%
When submitting to auditions on these casting websites for actors on your own, it is your responsibility to communicate and turn in your auditions on time.
However, when I get an audition from my agents, and I turn it in before the deadline, I expect my agents to submit it on time. That is their job, isn’t it?
Well, check out this episode to find out what happened and how I learned a few things about Actors Access in the mean time.
